During my time in Congress, I have supported, introduced, and successfully created laws that best represent the hard working men and women of central Arkansas. Through three administrations, I have fought for policies that give Arkansans a prominent voice in the halls of the U.S. Capitol, and I will continue to serve the Natural State to the best of my ability.


I want to highlight some of my bills that have been signed into law during my tenure in office.

My Legislative Wins 

Increasing Scrutiny and Promoting Transparency of Chinese Debt

  • This bill promotes transparency and regulates the guidelines by which developing countries receive lending from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and other international financial institutions, such as the IMF and World Bank. With the country’s growing role as an international creditor, there is need for greater transparency within lending terms to ensure the CCP does not take advantage of developing nations and economies. 

  • Became Law: Sec. 9722 in H.R. 6395, the FY2021 National Defense Authorization Act and was signed into law on January 1, 2020.

 

Ensuring our Veterans have a Final Resting Place

  • This bill allowed the Arkansas National Guard to release approximately 141 acres of land on Camp Joseph T. Robinson to the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA) to expand the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

  • Became law: Sec. 2832 in S.1790, the FY2020 National Defense Authorization Act and was signed into law on December 20, 2019.

 

Honoring the Bravery of those who Served

  • H.R. 2249, World War I Valor Medals Act  

  • This bipartisan bill allows for the review the military records of minority service members of the Armed Forces during WWI to determine if they should be awarded the Medal of Honor.

  • Became law: Sec. 584 in S.1790, the FY2020 National Defense Authorization Act and was signed into law on December 20, 2019.


Conservation Efforts in the Natural State

  • H.R. 5636, Flatside Wilderness Enhancement Act

  • This bill adds to the wilderness area approximately 640 acres of existing National Forest lands next to Forked Mountain. The additional acres of land were named “Bethune Woods” in honor of Arkansas’s former Congressman Ed Bethune who authored the original wilderness legislation for Arkansas. 

  • Became Law: January 10, 2019


Preserving the Civil Rights History of Little Rock

  • This bill expanded the boundaries of the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site. This expansion would mean seven homes located near Little Rock Central High School would be included in the school’s national historic site designation and preserved by the National Park Service (NPS). 

  • Became Law: January 12, 2018

 

Allowing Main Street Investors to Grow Businesses

  • This bill clarifies current law to allow broker-dealers to publish exchange-traded funds research, facilitating investors’ access to useful information in this rapidly growing market, removing barriers to investment and promoting capital formation. 

  • Became Law: Incorporated into S.327 and signed into law on October 6, 2017. 

 

Honoring Heroes in Central Arkansas

  • H.R. 6080, Naming of the Ronald A. Robinson Post Office in Little Rock, AR.

  • This bill honors Ronald A. Robinson for his service on the US Postal Service's Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee for 15 years and service as Chair of the Committee for 3 years. Ron lived an extraordinary life that included serving with distinction as an Air Force Captain, communications professional, and an avid stamp collector.

  • Became law: December 27, 2022
